What Do Our Lariat Strength Ratings Mean?
Some Shield Maiden lariats are chosen purely for their drape and styling. Others are selected as partner jewelry, where the chain may be handled, held, or gently tugged as part of the way the piece is worn. Because different designs use different chains, rings, connectors, and closures, we created a simple strength rating to help you understand how each piece is constructed.
Decorative
Designed primarily for appearance, drape, and everyday styling. These pieces may use finer chains, delicate connectors, or decorative components and are not designed for pulling or significant tension.

Mild Tugging
Built with somewhat stronger chains and connections and suitable for occasional gentle handling or light tension. They still remain jewelry and should be treated accordingly.
Tuggable
Our more robust lariat constructions, made with heavier chain, stronger rings, and reinforced connections for customers who prefer a more substantial, interactive piece.
