Shipping Policy

At Shield Maiden Jewelry, we are committed to providing a smooth, transparent, and reliable shipping experience for our customers worldwide. Below you’ll find important information about how orders are shipped, along with details on duties, tariffs, and VAT for various countries so you know exactly what to expect.

International Trade & Tariff Information
We are certified to ship tariff-free under the following trade agreements where applicable:

  • CETA (EU–Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement)
  • TCA (UK–Canada Trade Continuity Agreement)
  • USMCA/CUSMA (United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement)

This means that, in most cases, customs duties are not charged on qualifying shipments to the EU, UK, and United States. 

Additional Notes

  • Business days do not include weekends or holidays.
  • Delays may occur due to high order volume, postal service disruptions, or inclement weather.
  • We are not responsible for delays caused by your country's customs or carrier issues.
  • We are not responsible for packages sent without tracking, or to countries where tracking is not even an option. If this is you, contact us for rates with a courier instead of post.

  EU SHIPPING

 

For customers in the European Union, VAT is collected at checkout on eligible orders. 
Prepaying VAT at checkout helps ensure that in most cases, your package is delivered without additional VAT collection or carrier handling charges on arrival. This means

  • smoother customs clearance
  • faster delivery
  • fewer surprise charges or carrier handling fees upon arrival

For EU orders valued at €150 or less, VAT is collected at checkout through IOSS. These shipments should generally be delivered without additional VAT collection at delivery. Orders over €150 may be subject to additional import VAT, duties, or carrier handling fees upon arrival, depending on your country’s customs rules. If your order is over €150 and you have questions, please contact us before ordering so we can help work it out for you in the best possible way.

EU Per Package Fee

The European Union introduced a temporary €3 flat-rate customs duty to small shipments valued at €150 or less. With regular shipping, Shield Maiden Jewelry pays this fee for you so you do not incur this fee plus a courier processing fee upon arrival. If you choose expedited shipping, we are unable to prepay this fee, and you will have to pay it and the courier's fee upon arrival (total is approximately €15 but may vary.)

  • VAT, duties, and customs procedures are determined by the destination country and local authorities.
  • While we take every step to ensure accurate documentation, occasional carrier or customs processing errors may still occur.
  • Orders valued above applicable IOSS thresholds may be subject to import VAT or fees upon delivery, depending on local regulations.

Processing Time Orders are typically processed within 1 to 7 business days depending on stock and the item orderd. All our items are handmade and many at the time of order, so during busier times we need a few more days to create them.

Once your order has shipped, you will receive a tracking number via email. 

 UK SHIPPING

 

  • Items are sent with tracking and delivery typically takes 5 to 12 business days.
  • Expedited Shipping: Available as an upgrade for faster delivery.
  • Please note that aside from information above, customs fees, import duties, and taxes may apply depending on your country's regulations. These fees are the responsibility of the buyer. 

 USA SHIPPING

  • All orders are shipped with tracking. 
  • Delivery typically takes 5 to 12 business days.
  • Expedited Shipping is available as an upgrade for faster delivery. 
  • Our items are currently certified under the USMCA/CUSMA free trade agreement and ship to the United States without tariffs. However, US tariff policies are rapidly changing and remain fluid. After August 19, tariff treatment may change, and any applicable tariffs may be calculated and charged at checkout for US orders.

 NORWAY SHIPPING

Norwegian VAT is collected at checkout on eligible orders under Norway’s VOEC program. Eligible shipments should arrive without additional VAT or carrier customs-clearance charges. VOEC applies only where each individual item is valued below NOK 3,000.

 

 CANADA SHIPPING

  • Small Items are shipped via lettermail (no insurance or tracking included.) This is a service we offer to make it more economical, as postal rates within Canada can be very high. We are not responsible for lost packages sent without tracking, so we recommend upgrading to tracked shipping. 
  • All Other Items: Flat-rate with tracking.
  • Xpress Shipping is available as an upgrade for faster delivery.
