Shipping Policy

At Shield Maiden Jewelry, we are committed to providing a smooth, transparent, and reliable shipping experience for our customers worldwide. Below you’ll find important information about how orders are shipped, along with details on duties, tariffs, and VAT so you know exactly what to expect.

International Trade & Tariff Information
We are certified to ship tariff-free under the following trade agreements where applicable:

  • CETA (EU–Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement)
  • TCA (UK–Canada Trade Continuity Agreement)
  • USMCA/CUSMA (United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement)

This means that, in most cases, customs duties are not charged on qualifying shipments to the EU, UK, and United States.

EU & UK VAT (Import One-Stop Shop – IOSS)
For customers in the European Union, VAT is collected at checkout on eligible orders under the Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) system.
Prepaying VAT at checkout helps ensure:

  • smoother customs clearance
  • faster delivery
  • fewer surprise charges or carrier handling fees upon arrival

For orders valued at €150 or less, VAT-prepaid shipments should generally be delivered without additional VAT charges at delivery.

Important Notes

  • VAT, duties, and customs procedures are determined by the destination country and local authorities.
  • While we take every step to ensure accurate documentation, occasional carrier or customs processing errors may still occur.
  • Orders valued above applicable IOSS thresholds may be subject to import VAT or fees upon delivery, depending on local regulations.

Processing Time Orders are typically processed within 1 to 7 business days depending on stock and the item orderd. All our items are handmade and many at the time of order, so during busier times we need a few more days to create them.

Once your order has shipped, you will receive a tracking number via email. 

Shipping to EU & UK

  • Items are sent with tracking and delivery typically takes 5 to 12 business days.
  • Expedited Shipping: Available as an upgrade for faster delivery.
  • Please note that aside from information above, customs fees, import duties, and taxes may apply depending on your country's regulations. These fees are the responsibility of the buyer. 

Shipping to the USA

  • Orders over $35 USD will be shipped with tracking for $5 USD. Delivery typically takes 5 to 12 business days.
  • Orders under $35 USD will be shipped with tracking for $11 USD. 
  • Delivery typically takes 5 to 12 business days.
  • Expedited Shipping is available as an upgrade for faster delivery.
  • All our items are certified under the USMCA/CUSMA free trade agreement and ship TARIFF FREE.

Shipping to CANADA

  • Small Items are shipped via lettermail (no insurance or tracking included) for $3 CAD. This is a service we offer to make it more economical, as postal rates within Canada can be very high. We are not responsible for lost packages sent without tracking, so we recommend upgrading to tracked shipping which is $8 CAD. 
  • All Other Items: Flat-rate with tracking, shipping fee of $8 CAD.
  • Xpress Shipping is available as an upgrade for faster delivery.

Additional Notes

  • Business days do not include weekends or holidays.
  • Delays may occur due to high order volume, postal service disruptions, or inclement weather.
  • We are not responsible for delays caused by customs or carrier issues.
  • We are not responsible for packages sent without tracking, or to countries where tracking is not even an option. If this is you, contact us for rates with a courier instead of post.
